As per the reports one gunman has shot at a security camera
of the mall. One single shell casing is also found from the site. As per
eyewitness they have heard at least 6 to 7 gunshots around 9.20 pm ET. A worker
Eddie Kahmann quoted by CNN told, “There were just people running like crazy. So
I too closed my doors quickly and ran to the back turned off all the lights,
music and just everything just to make sure I am hidden.” This is one of the
largest shopping centers in the New
York City area.
Ali Cozic another worker at the mall described the shooter
dressed in all black and holding a large gun and walked past the store. She too
confirmed the chaos happening after the shooting broke out. She described the
scenes like watching a horror movie as the shooter was walking slowly across. As
soon as Allie saw him firing she just turned around and ran.
The response from the FBI and SWAT was urgent. The police
too came quickly wearing flak jackets and assault weapons with them. People
were pushed away from the mall. The people told CNN that the shopping center
was in a lockdown.
