One of the most senior leaders in his 30s Nasiruddin Haqqani
has been shot dead near Islamabad, the capital
of Pakistan today as per the
sources related with Pakistan
government.
Nasiruddin Haqqani was the son of the Haqqani Militant Group
founder Jalaluddin Haqqani and his job was to finance the group, it is been
told. The report coming in from Pakistan
saying that Nasiruddin Haqqani’s body was taken to the North
Waziristan a tribal area near the Pak-Afghan border. It is not yet
clear that who actually killed him but he was in the US list of top global terrorists is
a known fact.

On Sunday night he was shot down near Rawalpindi in a shooting incident. Rawalpindi is just next to the city of Islamabad. Security sources have confirmed
killing to the BBC news agency. One more report coming in is suggesting that
unidentified gunmen came on their motorbikes and started relentless firing of
bullets on Haqqani as he was out and buying fresh bread for himself from a
nearby bakery in the outskirts of the national capital city.
This is second such loss for the Haqqani family as
Nasiruddin Haqqani’s another brother Badruddin who was the operational
commander of the group was killed by a drone attack in August 2012. Sirajuddin
Haqqani the other brother is now expected to take over the charge of the group
as Jalaluddin Haqqani will remain the father figure for the group.
To get the donations Nasiruddin Haqqani used to travel the
gulf countries very frequently and used to meet oil rich Arab Sheikhs. Since
last year, he was planning to establish a Taliban office in Doha
to facilitate peace talks with the United States of America.
Nasiruddin was the main person to get in touch with Pakistani Talibans and was
the only source to establish contact with Afghan Talibans for last few years
now. His death will certainly handicap the Haqqani Group it is learnt.
