Month long, plein air exhibition throughout the city of
New York (
USA) has been continued by
Banksy with an image which is close to all New Yorkers’ hearts.
The street artist from Britain has created a vague portrayal of the Twin Towers on the Staple street in Tribeca which has been decorated with a bright orange flower sticking out from a crack in a wall which seems to be representing the explosive of the September 11 attacks. This piece must have brought the tears in those eyes who have lost their loved ones but it has already created a hype in the art lovers section of USA and UK.

Till now it is fetching very mixed reactions. The expressions given on Bansky’s Instagram are like, “Brilliant and poetic” and “No words”. But it has a few criticisms as well. Hyperallergic’s Hrag Vartanian seems to be unimpressed with the piece as the comment says, “I am still surprised at how cliché this particular piece seems.” One more September 11 tribute can also be seen in Brooklyn Heights but it is yet to be confirmed by Banksy on his Instagram since that particular piece does not have the flower.
