A sever earthquake measuring 7.2 magnitude has hit the
central parts of Philippines
And has killed at least six people till the reports last came in. As per the US
Geological Survey the quake has hit the underneath of the Bohol Island
which is very popular amongst the tourists. People got killed because of the
buildings and markets were kept on collapsing in nearby Cebu.
Several buildings including churches were damaged by the quake. Although there
is no warning has been issued by the Pacific
Tsunami Warning
Center as it has find
that it is not expecting high waves because of this quake. Four of the six dead were killed in a fish
market which got collapsed after the quake as per officials.
The news agency AP and local TV reports have confirmed two
other deats along with 19 more getting injured because of the roof collapsing
in a market of Cebu.
An eyewitness quoted by the AFP news agency, Janet Maribao
said, “I was fast asleep when suddenly I had to woke up as my bed was shaking
up and I got shocked. I could do nothing at that time but to hide under the bed
itself.
More bad news has come from Neil Sanchez who is ahead of
the Cebu disaster management office told local broadcaster ABS-CBN that “there
are confirmed reports of a school building has collapsed as well and
communications lines are also damaged. Even a disaster risk reduction
management office has been damaged as well hence we need to see some other resources.”
A Church and the City Hall is already damaged in Bohol and atleast two more buildings are collapsed in the
same area as per local authorities. so often. Last year in August a 7.6
