A double suicide bomb attacks which were targeted at Hotel
Jazeera in the Somali
capital, Mogadishu
has believed to have killed at least 10 people including two police officers
while another thirty seven were injured as told by RBC Radio.
As per few eyewitnesses, a car was laden with explosives had
came and hit by several cars parked outside the hotel where many security
guards and armed policemen were staying. At least four people were killed on
the spot once the first attack was carried.
Nearly thirty minutes were passed by and one more vehicle
loaded with explosives exploded just a few meters away from the place where the
first blast happened. This blast killed six people. Most of them were security
guards.
As per the Somali Police Spokesman Gen. Mohamed Madaale,
three of the attackers were also got killed in the second blast. He also added
that the police also shot one attacker who tried to enter the hotel. The
responsibility of these attacks was immediately taken by the militant group Al
Shabab.
Al Shabab said that they have targeted some of the
intelligence officers who were staying in the hotel. Jazeera Hotel is several
meters away from the Aden Abdulle International
Airport and it is one of the most
expensive hotels of the capital Mogadishu.
