Thailand
is bracing itself for a fresh mass unrest today as anti-government protestors
have blocked major roads to ‘shut down’ the capital city of Bangkok.
The shutdown is taking place to over throw Thailand’s
current Prime Minister Yingluck Shiawatra who is blamed for running a
government as a de facto to ex Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra.
Thaksin is in the exile right now. If these protests intensify
then the major concern is that it may continue for many weeks. The protests
have already taken eight lives till now.
For the very reason, more bloodshed is feared by the Thailand
government. The other fear is that the Thai military may step in and can also
furnish another coup as well.
Last night an unidentified gunman opened fire on the
anti-government protestors, who were camping near a big government complex.
This has shot one man seriously on his neck and he was
immediately transferred to a nearby hospital as per Bangkok’s emergency services.
As per police another major shooting incident happened in
the other part of Bangkok,
where a gunman shot at least 10 rounds at the headquarters of the opposition
Democrat party.
Although there is no casualty reported, but the firing has
shattered quite a few windows of the building.
