Sunanda Pushkar, wife of India’s
union cabinet minister for Human Resource Development (HRD) Shashi Tharoor,
found dead in her hotel room in Delhi
last night.
The hotel authorities have found her body in Room number 345
of the Leela Hotel in the capital city of India,
Delhi. The
city’s police commissioner has ordered an inquiry into the matter.
The personal secretary of Mr Tharoor, Abhinav Kumar, has
confirmed the death of Ms. Pushkar and said the cause of the death is unknown
and one should wait for the post mortem report.
The police and the forensic team along with the magistrate
rushed to the site immediately after they were informed by the hotel
authorities and have started all the necessary formalities.
Mr. Abhinav Kumar although has added that there is no
obvious signs of any struggle or any foul play and the police has already
sealed the room.
Around 8.30 pm last night Mr. Tharoor entered his suite, but
found his bedroom door closed and assumed that his wife is sleeping, but only
after a few minutes when he entered in the room with his PA he found that Ms.
Pushkar was dead.
It was also learned from Mr. Kumar that the room was taken
up last morning itself.
